Our philosophy at Two Rivers Community School is underpinned by the key principles of Knowledge, Devotion and Service. At Two Rivers Community School we believe knowledge is sacred, transformative and enduring. We view the natural environment as the creation of the Divine imbued with purpose and as a source of wonder and inspiration. Providing enriching outdoor learning environments fosters creativity, curiosity and connection. This connection results in intentions based on sound knowledge, leading to righteous actions that develop good character and leads to a well-balanced and purposeful life. Devotion is the praxis of knowledge with proper awareness of God. By valuing self-reflection, accountability and faith, we aim to encourage perspective and wisdom within our school community.
We acknowledge the diverse nature of our learners and are committed to providing an environment that is considerate and supportive. By cultivating a love for the Creator, learners will commit to a lifelong journey devotion. Two Rivers Community School inspires our learners to be a positive change in the world by forging strong community relations.
We view the natural environment as the creation of the Divine.
Through acts of service, we foster a responsibility to benefit and be of benefit to our families, communities and the world. With an emphasis on “place” students are immersed in local heritage, cultures, landscapes, opportunities and experiences. This will instill an understanding of belonging and develop stronger partnerships by actively engaging within the community. We are dedicated to honouring and upholding the dignity of our students through reciprocal relationships characterised by mercy and care. We prioritise relationships that are mutually transformative rather than transactional, and where educators nurture the transformation of the whole learner and are responsive to the life worlds of students.
Graduating students of Two Rivers Community School are God conscious and good human beings who contribute to building and sustaining a good society: socially, spiritually and economically. They are self-reflective and well-balanced individuals who love and value learning. With the strength to persevere and resilience in their faith, graduates of two Rivers Community School will show both commitment to service and devotion in their respective communities.

Mareeba, meaning meeting of the waters in the local Aboriginal language, a rural town in North Queensland, has been home to a vibrant Muslim community for over a century. This agricultural hub, nestled in the Atherton Tabelands, has seen generations of Muslims contribute significantly to its development, particularly in farming and agriculture. Over the years, the community has maintained its cultural heritage while integrating into the broader social fabric of Mareeba, fostering a spirit of cooperation and resilience that reflects the town’s agricultural roots. This enduring presence has not only enriched Mareeba’s diversity but has also highlighted the important intersection of faith and farming in this unique part of Australia.
Two Rivers Community School aims to provide a sustainable and enduring facility that will serve as a cornerstone for the growth and development of this century-old Muslim community. By creating a dedicated space for Islamic education, the school will ensure that Islamic values and teachings are passed down to future generations. This initiative not only supports the educational needs of young Muslims but also strengthens the broader community, fostering unity and continuity. Establishing an Islamic school will help future generations grow with a deep connection to their faith, cultural heritage, and identity—ensuring that Islam continues to prosper and flourish for years to come.
The Muslims of Mareeba have persevered over the past 100 years, but to secure a thriving future, establishing a school for the community is crucial – the missing piece of the puzzle. Two Rivers Community School is a unique educational institution that caters specifically to the Muslim community, offering a learning experience deeply rooted in Islamic principles and nature. Located on 70 acres of beautiful Australian bush, the school emphasizes an outdoor, nature-based approach to education, lending itself to extensive opportunities for students to explore, discover and contemplate. Set to open at the beginning of 2026, the development will unfold in six stages, with Stage 1 being completed for the school’s opening. These stages will include the creation of modern, eco-friendly facilities designed to foster both academic and spiritual growth.
